Barbecue

The weather was nice after long time. The sky was clear and the sun was pretty warm. The general impression of beautiful day slightly corrupted by a bit of smoke from a burning of gorse from a close property.

The work started unusually with tidying the container up. In order to use the tables and the benches we had to move a lot of things such as carpets, the big tent for a courses and even Ole’s throne. Also we found some forgotten things, which will be useful for building and landscaping.

Around two o’clock came our friends for the barbecue. There appeared German sausages, pork steaks and burgers complemented by vegetables and European beer.

While we were eating, we introduced our friends to the plan and the vision of the retreat centre. Some of them were so impressed, that they wanted to be involved and to help immediately.

When we were full, we started to build the front and the back wall of the hut. We also adjusted the borders of the hole for the foundation. We dug out some soil to make the slope behind the hut less steep and stop the erosion.

The weather was good and work was joyful. Unfortunately we had to stop at five o’clock and go to return the trailer we had borrowed.
